A Beam of Happiness for Indigent

...

Almost 46.9% of India’s population are under the age of twenty-five, many of whom live at or below the poverty line. Enhanced training and skill development are crucial for providing disadvantaged youth decent employment opportunities. To uproot this curse of poverty from the lives of the impoverished section, the government, NGOs, and corporate organizations are striving to provide skill development programs at no cost to poor and needy ones. These are specifically strategized to upskill the downtrodden people. Key Management Group Inc. is a corporate organization that has made efforts to provide healthcare training to underprivileged sections of society.

Key Management Group Inc. funds GK Healthcare Institute as a part of its CSR initiative to empower youth from backward sections through healthcare training. KMG, in collaboration with Gyan Kunj, has begun this initiative. Through this campaign, underprivileged youth of JJ Colony, Bawana, are subjected to training programs related to healthcare. This training session is conducted five days a week with 20 students in each batch. KMG has supported GKHI in financial sustenance by rent payments, staff compensation, equipment acquisition and covered all major expenses required for the training program.

Upon completing this training program, GK Healthcare Institute has provided clinical internship & on-the-job training opportunities to its students who hail from less-privileged backgrounds and socially & economically challenged communities. From the first batch of 20 students, four of them joined Satyabhama Hospital for a clinical internship. Twelve students got a job opportunity at Life Circle Health Services – a healthcare organization, positioned as professional caregivers. Among them, seven students joined General Nursing and Midwifery course after acquiring training from our institute.

This healthcare training program has been a powerful tool in ensuring better employment opportunities for the indigent youth of Bawana. Making destitute youth financially independent breaks the cycle of poverty, breeds confidence & self-respect, and turns marginalized youth into responsible citizens of our society.
