Providing Healthcare Services to the Underprivileged!

Someone has rightly said, “Helping one person might not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.” Henceforth, it is crucial to truly embrace corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ethical principles that would promote equal distribution of healthcare resources among all. Gyankunj is one such organization that has been taking up many such CSR initiatives. With the idea of a healthy population being a prodigious asset for the nation, Gyankunj is committed to the cause of societal health through effective and innovative interventions.

GK Healthcare is a CSR initiative by Gyankunj that aims to serve the needs of underprivileged sections of the society, so that the benefits of modern healthcare trickle down to the bottom of the pyramid. To empower women and enhance healthcare infrastructure, Gyankunj in collaboration with Gyan Kunj Healthcare Institute has commenced this initiative. Underprivileged women were subjected to a 6-months training programme which enabled them to assist the nurses in the healthcare organizations. This program was conducted 5 days a week with 20 students in each batch. Post-completion of this training, these women are provided with internships in private hospitals and elderly homes. Through the GK Healthcare campaign, Gyankunj funded the distribution of modern medical equipment and supported GKHI in financial sustenance by rent payments, staff compensation, equipment acquisition and covered all major expenses required for the training program.

This campaign has provided indigent women a feeling of self-confidence for taking up employment and extending a helping hand towards their families. Also, this program has built a strong medical infrastructure, thereby raising the healthcare standards resulting in preventive and curative care for the deprived people. This initiative has opened several doors for the underprivileged backgrounders, and transformed lives of their families and ensured them that change is just around the corner.
